Biography
Caius Rotarus
He was born in 1969 in Cluj (Transylvania, Romania). Formally trained as a sculptor at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, his education and personal research covers a wide range of cultural fields (literature, theater, film). He started exhibiting at collective exhibitions, and he opened his first personal exhibition in 1999, then participated in several monumental sculpture workshops. For a time he worked as a museographer. This experience influenced his artistic approach and was helpful later, after 2010, when he co-curated several Romanian-Israeli exhibitions. The line of his thoughts, ideas and discourse evolves in a straight line, starting from “sculpture on a pedestal” to objects and, more recently, installations.
