Miroljub Stamenković graduated in 1975 from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade. As a sculptor restorer, he worked at the National Museum in Belgrade until 1991. From then until his retirement (2015), he was employed at the Faculty of Applied Arts, where in 2001 he obtained the title of full professor on the course Applied Sculpture. He realized 9 independent exhibitions. Exhibited at more than 120 collective exhibitions in many cities of Serbia, the former Yugoslavia and abroad (Budapest, Lisbon, Florence, Stockholm, Thessaloniki, The Hague, Halapa…). For more than forty years, Stamenković has developed an individual artistic oeuvre that includes dozens of objects from the field of applied sculpture (medals, coats of arms, decorations, plaques, jubilee coins…), monumental memorials and sculptures placed in public spaces in Serbia, Slovenia, Greece, Croatia , Mexico, Republika Srpska, numerous gallery format sculptures and sculptural miniatures.
For his creative work, Miroljub Stamenković received numerous official recognitions and more than twenty awards, among which are the highest professional awards – the Annual Award of ULUPUDS and the Golden Chisel of ULUS. He lives and creates in Belgrade.
