The Turkish artist Sema Okan Topac, using a universal art language, created sculptures with a very strong sensibility, but also skilfully reduced sculptural poetics. In the case of the large piece, the initial inspiration seems to have been in organic forms. However, such associativeness is quickly lost, and before us is a monumental sculpture whose processing is somewhat perfectionist, and clear plastic thought reached a convincing, pure expression thanks to the almost perfect communication between the artist and the material. The artist achieved an equally logical and natural flow of impulses in two gallery-format sculptures. Closed visual units give the impression of continuity and a rhythmic scheme of ideas around an imagined axis. Her monumental work from the same year, made in a different technique, is called “Good memories” and is almost identical to the Glaeri format that is in the permanent exhibition of the Terra Museum.
