Biography

Georgios Kaltsidis

Born in 1955 in Drama, Greece. In 1995 he graduated from the painting department of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of the Aristotelian University in Thessaloniki, Greece. Awards: 1996 Astir Scholarship for the creation of works of art; 2002 First prize for sculpture at the First Inter-Balkan Forum of Contemporary Miniature Art. His exhibition experience began in 1993, and since then he has exhibited at six independent and thirteen collective exhibitions in his country and abroad. He also participated in thirteen symposia (France, Turkey, Austria, Greece, Serbia).
The earlier works of this artist, mostly made of wood, have something mythical and primordial in them. On Teri, he tried to achieve harmony with nature and the universe in a different way. Perhaps the best example of this statement is a large relief, which can also be associated with space whirlwinds, and on which the tactile moment came to full expression, that is, the symbiosis of the artist, his ideas and the earth as raw material.
