Biography
Belgrade sculptor, Miodrag Stupovski, born in Belgrade in 1938. He finished the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in the class of Ilija Kolarević, and postgraduate studies in the classes of Jovan Kratohvil and Mica Popovic. He attended a mosaic course in Varena. He is engaged in sculpture, painting and graphics. Milorad Stupovski built five public monuments in Belgrade, Železnik, Arandjelovac and Vlasina. His sculptures are in numerous private and museum collections. Writer Miroslav Josić Višnjić noted about Milorad Stupovski’s work: “What distinguishes the author’s new sculptures are lyrical tones: poetically carved surfaces, edges that are gentle, polished, rounded… Even when these edges are sharp, they are neither abrupt nor cold .”
