Biography

Ante Marinović – (Vela Luka, Korčula, 1947)

He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Split and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. At the school “Asmave” (Associazione marmoristi Veronesi) in Verona (Italy) he obtained the title of Maestro de la pietra (stone master). He makes sculptures in marble and granite. He presented his works at many individual and group exhibitions in the country and abroad and participated in numerous sculpting symposiums and workshops, among others, at the tenth Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium (Dubrova, Labin) in 1979. He is the author of over 40 sculptures in public space. He has won numerous international awards for his sculptures. His works are in the collections of many recognized museums and galleries throughout the world (Shimonoseki Museum of Modern Art, Japan; Microsoft Corp. in Seattle, USA; Vatican City).

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Sculptors of Monumental Sculptures (AIESM). He lives and works in Vela Luka.
