Currently she’s finalizing her doctoral studies in Multimedia Art at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade, while working at her ceramics studio at the historic Jugošped building, linked to the Polyhedra company.
Actively involved in Erasmus youth exchanges across the Netherlands, Italy, Slovenia, Denmark, and Poland, Katarina also attends artist residencies, professional conferences, and exhibitions, both nationally and across Europe.
.. The painting “Balkan Stories,” after which the exhibition is named, finds its inspiration in bullet holes on facades in the city of Mostar, observed during the RYCO volunteer program in the Western Balkans. This experience spurred a connection between the past and present, highlighting unresolved wounds and ongoing challenges. History of conflicts, instability, economic difficulties, and ineffective institutions have shaped our lives. The impact of external factors on our emotional state has become evident, not only in interactions with people but also in objects. Displayed artworks depict inner emotions through artistic expression such as crumpled cans, paintings, and photographs. Although inspired by personal experiences, these works invite diverse interpretations and individual reflections. Their inception as personal expressions transforms into a shared experience.
