Biography

John Beemsterboer:

Born in 1950 in Horn, Netherlands. For two years, he studied interior design at Gerard Krasera’s private art school, then at the Artibus Art Academy in Utrecht, sculpture department. He has been working as an independent artist since 1979. He has had exhibitions in the Netherlands and Kikinda. Beemsterboer never joined any movement. For him, art is a means of self-discovery. He tries to convey his own feelings in shapes, colors and contrasts. Each work automatically leads to the next, and no work of art is better than the others. Everyone is part of the same quest, with the goal of understanding his feelings and the world around him. For him, the most important thing is the process and experimentation, not the end result.

Corzo / Kikinda / Passersby

…I was inspired by the movement of people. I observed them on the promenade and other places where this movement takes place continuously. I noticed certain regularities, certain undulations in both directions. Now I’m trying to show that two-way undulation using the elements that will make up the whole sculpture..
