Biography
Francesco Roviello was born in Casagiove in 1956, he teaches technology and the use of marble of stones and semiprecious stones at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara, in the Sculpture course held by Prof. Floriano Bodini, at the end of the 70s and early 80s.
He moved to Florence in the mid 80s, where he currently lives and works. In Florence in the early years, he dealt with the restoration of stone materials, working with a company specializing in the field of monumental restoration. In 1995 he carried out the restoration of the Church of the Child Jesus in Singapore with a working group, dealing with the restoration of stucco artefacts.
He has always made his sculptures with “historical” materials, Marble, Bronze, Wood, and Terracotta, the latter material that he prefers and uses mainly with the use of pigments.
