Biography
Wade Saunders is a sculptor and art critic. He began exhibiting and teaching in 1975 and started writing for Art in America in 1978. Saunders makes sculpture to answer the questions “What?” “Why?” and “How?” As a critic he has written on the role of studio assistants, the disappearance of Bill Bollinger’s oeuvre, the handling of Bas Jan Ader’s estate, and written jointly with his wife, Anne Rochette, on the rise of Los Angeles as a sculpture center.
