Ratko Gikić, academic sculptor (1944-2004)
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, sculpture department. Member of ULUS since 1970. Member of the “May Group” (Radovanović, Denković, Gikić, Marinkov). in the country and abroad, and independently: Novi Sad (1970, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1991, 1993); Sremski Karlovci (1970, 1972, 1978, 1985, 1990, 1995); Vrbas (1970); Brčko, BiH (1972); Bečej (1976); Senta (1976); Rovinj (1977); Pristina (1977); Sremska Kamenica (1978); Apatin (1979); Niš (1979); Prijepolje (1980); Sarajevo (1982); Belgrade (1985, 1987); Beocin (1987); Slavonski Brod (1989).
Awards: first prize for sculpture at the Belgrade University students’ exhibition, Belgrade (1970); redemption award of the city of Belgrade (1971); special prize of the Plastika foundry at the October Salon, Belgrade (1975); redemption award of the House of JNA, Belgrade (1975); redemption prize of the gallery of Yugoslav portraits, Tuzla (1979). Lived in Sremski Karlovci.
