Dana Petkov – ABSTRACT VIBRATIONS
27/10/2023 – The art exhibition – ABSTRACT VIBRATIONS, by Dana Petkov, was opened in the salon of the TERRA museum.
Danica Dana Petkov was born in 1961 in Sânpetru Mare, Romania. She lives in Timisoara. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts in Timișoara. She is a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Romania. She worked as an Art Teacher at the Serbian Grammar School Dositej Obradović and other schools in Timișoara. She is active in art restoration and painting.
,,Standing in front of Dana Petkov’s paintings one feels energized, courageous, and filled with the beauty of life. One can also daydream while listening to the melodies of colours. Since the start of her painting career, Dana has used vibrant colours and floral patterns to convey the lyricism and feelings which imbued her soul. The artist has dedicated the last several years of her career to the abstract artistic style, as a result of her expertise in experimenting with different approaches and forms of expression. I have been observing her creative work since its inception and have seen it advance quickly. She has years of study efforts, artistic work and countless exhibitions under her belt. Dana is drawn to the gestural quality of painting in the pieces that are on display, which were completed during the last two to three years. She uses bold, quick, and professional strokes, lines, and vibrant colours. As the director of the international Transfiguration Art Colony in Timișoara, she further enhanced her artistic experience by sharing her knowledge with artists from Serbia and many other nations, and she also had a chance to share her knowledge and grow as an artist in multiple art colonies run by the Serbian group Arte, of which she has been a part for over ten years”.
